Position overview Salary range: The salary range for this position is $436,800-$635,800. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Position description The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UC Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for a highly qualified accredited orthopaedic hand/upper extremity fellowship-trained surgeon to complement its comprehensive hand/upper extremity program. The position will serve in the Faculty Senate Clinical-X series with an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor academic rank. The UC Davis Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is the premier surgical service provider in the greater Sacramento region and beyond and is based on the UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento, California. Sacramento is an easily accessible, family- oriented city in close proximity to the San Francisco Bay area, Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the California coast, and Napa Valley. EXPECTATIONS Faculty in the Clinical X series are expected to engage in professional competence and activity, teaching, research and creative work, and University/public service. This position will provide inpatient and outpatient care at UC Davis Health. This position will also include the teaching and supervision of fellows, residents, and medical students, as well as participate in departmental meetings, conferences, hospital, and departmental committees. This position will participate in evening/weekend/holiday call for our UC Davis Health Hospital System. Candidates in the Clinical X series must demonstrate the ability and experience to conduct scholarly/clinical/translational research and must provide evidence of experience obtaining extramural funding and/or administering clinical trials. # of Positions: 1 Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application) Must possess an M.D. (or equivalent) Must have completed an approved Orthopaedic Surgery residency program Must be board certified or eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery Must have the ability to teach medical students, residents, and fellows Must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment and adhere to University policy and procedures.
