Responsibilities/daily tasks Receiving Inspection - Inspect incoming materials from our suppliers in accordance with defined specifications, quality assurance deliverables (QADs) as defined on Purchase orders, along with conducting visual and measurement tests as deemed necessary via existing or new procedures, work instructions, Standard Operation procedures, and use of relevant forms. Non-conforming products/materials - Communicates negative fallout and areas of improvement for non-conforming product while working with the quality assurance, purchasing, shipping, production, and engineering departments to support the identification/traceability of defective product and coordinates removing rejected product from the value steam to designated areas such as MRB (material review board), NCM (non-conforming material), Repair WIP (work in progress) staging area's etc. Verifies completion of rework or repair of products in accordance with UCA established standards along with any regulatory standards relative to our products. In-process Inspection -- Inspects work in-process (WIP) production by validating specifications, conducting visual/measurement tests, communicating negative outputs to quality assurance, purchasing, production, and engineering departments as applicable to UCA policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Final Inspection - Approves finished products by confirming specification requirements are met, conducting visual cosmetic and measurement tests, identifying, and returning products to relative departments for re-work, and confirming re-work as applicable. Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs and inputs data into quality database. Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs as appropriate. Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with OSHA standards and regulations. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. Works supporting all departments quality needs throughout the organization. QUALIFICATIONS: 1 to 2 years' experience performing inspections in a quality assurance environment. Must be mechanically inclined. Experience working with HVAC products and their components is a PLUS. Experience with use of measuring devices such as meters, gauges, calipers, tape measures and other measuring instruments that are relative to the HVAC market. Written and verbal communication skills Basic math skills Basic computer skills Attention to detail. Analytic skills Documentation control Hand/eye coordination Reporting skills General understanding and use of wiring diagrams & drawings Basic knowledge with the use of geometric dimensional tolerancing (GD&T) is desired but not a requirement.
