Description Brown and Caldwell is looking for a senior-level Engineer to join the waste market sector team within our Private Sector Business Unit. The successful candidate will work on a broad spectrum of projects ranging from studies, environmental investigations and design for solid waste management and recycling facilities and waste disposal facilities. This is an exciting full-time opportunity to work in a growth-oriented professional consulting firm with multiple offices throughout the U.S. Candidate will work with strong, nationally recognized, technical staff on a variety of projects. Our ideal candidate will have strong verbal/written communication skills and be a highly organized problem solver. The ideal candidate must be capable of working in a diverse team environment and handling multiple tasks with competing priorities. Some travel is required. Detailed Description: In this role, your primary responsibilities will include technical support, project delivery and engagement with solid waste clients (both private sector and municipal). The successful candidate will work on a broad spectrum of projects ranging from PFAS and other emerging contaminant regulatory strategies (including standards support, characterization, and treatment options), environmental site assessments/investigations, technology/alternatives evaluation, design and permitting, implementation, remediation/site closure projects, and water reuse. Additional responsibilities to include: Apply advanced technical skills and experience to provide innovative solutions to solve environmental problems. Provide senior technical review of documents. Attend client project meetings and lead client interaction/discussion regarding project activities. Prepare and review technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables. Provide marketing and technical support to project managers and staff during the procurement and execution of key projects as requested. Work with other team members to assure high quality delivery thus helping expand the business and related services throughout the U.S. Supervise and coordinate the work of others on projects; ensure proper and timely execution on projects. Help mentor junior level staff members. Utilize internal project management tools and resources. Participate in BC's quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) process. Desired Skills and Experience: BS Degree in Engineering or Science (Civil, Environmental, or related field) required; MS degree preferred. A minimum of 10 years of directly applicable experience as described above. PE certification required or ability to receive reciprocity. Knowledge of Federal and State environmental regulations is required. Excellent technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and contextually essential. Candidate will have strong verbal/written communication skills and ability to work well independently and in team environments. Technical expertise with solid waste permitting, design, and construction. Excellent communication, report writing, computer (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and project / task management skills required; experience with MS Project a plus. Capable of producing high quality products on schedule and within budgets. Candidate should be able to pursue, win and execute work in a team setting. Periodic travel is anticipated. Salary Range :Theanticipatedstarting payrange for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and maybemore or lessdependingupon skills, experience,and education.
