Service Manager - Laredo / Del Rio Area, TX Summary: This role involves managing tradespeople, staff positions, and subcontractors as needed. The position typically handles challenging projects and performs a variety of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) functions. Additional duties may be assigned. The individual shall have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in each of the following: as a technician in HVAC and Mechanical Systems. Also, the Service Manager must possess a current trade certification in either HVAC or Mechanical Systems. The position requires extensive travel throughout the Laredo/Del Rio area weekly. This is a full-time non-exempt hourly position Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manage O&M service to maintain and operate facilities and utility systems, including HVAC, ductwork, piping, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, water treatment, grounds maintenance, Building Automation Systems (BAS) and custodial services for multiple facilities. Monitor budgets for projects. Ensure safety for all personnel on the job, including subcontractor personnel, compliance with environmental standards, and quality of work performed. Interface with labor union contacts and address grievances as needed. Research and resolve customer and employee complaints. Participate in long-range planning of facility maintenance activities. Schedule work to be performed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in each of the following: as a technician in HVAC and Mechanical Systems. Also, the Area Manager must possess a current trade certification in either HVAC or Mechanical Systems. Experience in federal government contracting. Must pass OSHA 10-hour safety course. Excellent management and employee relations skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters. Ability to work independently and recommend solutions to problems. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Project. Superior attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and demands. Ability and willingness to travel to geographically dispersed work sites within the state of Texas - at times requiring multi-day stays away from the primary work location. . This position requires access to a government facility, and the candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. A thorough company and U.S. Government background check will be performed. A valid state issued driver's license is required. A clean driving record is required. Communication: Must communicate effectively with customers, direct and indirect staff, supervisors, and office personnel. A background check and drug screen will be conducted for this position.
