Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substitute School Nurse to join our team on an as-needed basis. The Substitute School Nurse will provide essential health services to students, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being while promoting a healthy school environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide immediate care to students with injuries or illnesses. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Conduct health screenings and assessments. Maintain accurate health records and documentation. Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student health needs. Educate students and staff on health-related topics, including hygiene and nutrition. Respond to emergencies and coordinate with local medical services as necessary. Uphold confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations. Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia; BSN preferred. Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in emergency situations. Familiarity with health regulations and school health policies. CPR and First Aid certification required.
