Description: We are seeking an Accessibility Specialist who has experience breaking down walls between design, engineering, and the business to ensure inclusion for all. This organization is amidst a complete transformation in how digital products are brought to market, and this professional will play a pivotal role in ensuring accessibility is embedded in every step of the customer journey. This role will partner closely with our Principal Accessibility Specialist to elevate the experiences across all digital products. A client of TEKsystems is seeking an accessibility expert who is familiar with WCAG 2.1 AA standards and their application across various digital products. This professional must be skilled in bringing the humanity of accessibility to novice team members and capable of training to level up the company's maturity in inclusion. This role will be involved in accessibility testing and training across design, QA and engineering. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: • Drive adoption of WCAG AA standards and any applicable government standards through the development and design process • Solutioning with Designers and Developers how to minimally adjust their work (visual design / code) to ensure a compliant accessible experience. • Coordinate with 3rd parties to ensure secondary compliance and usability. • Conducts design level, code level and screen reader based digital accessibility audits and provides guidance to designers and developers. • Provide tactical guidance to novice teams on remediations and screen reader testing • Create and maintain accessibility health measures. • Manages multiple projects simultaneously and supports the team's design and tech backlog • Demonstrate a commitment to the organization's core values (included in all job descriptions). • The position responsibilities outlined above are in no way to be construed as all encompassing. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: • Strong emotional intelligence and deep empathy • Passionate about disability advocacy • 7+ years in accessibility and advocacy • Experience with assistive technologies (e.g., NVDA, JAWS, Voiceover, Talkback, & Dragon) and testing tools (e.g., axe, PAC3, & CCA) • Strong leadership and mentoring skills • 3+ years in program management, project management • Detail-oriented with strong communication skills • Comfortable with public speaking and handling conflict and prioritize projects with competing resources PREFERRED SKILLS: • Design and research tools including Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Mural, Axure, UserTesting • Ability to analyze code for accessibility issues • Microsoft Office, Jira and Confluence • Candidates for this role should enjoy a challenging, fast-paced environment with a focus on quality and industry leading innovation. The successful candidate should have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, be a self-starter, and be effective at managing multiple projects and priorities. • Familiarity with international accessibility laws (e.g., AODA, ACA, ADA, EAA, EN 301 549) is highly desired. EDUCATION: • Bachelor's degree required • IAAP certification (CPACC, WAS, etc) • DHS v5 Trusted Tester certification • PMP certification Additional Skills & Qualifications: This position can be REMOTE, Hybrid, or in person as long as they can work Chicago HUB business hours.
