Reference #: Engineer II, Tooling Location: ERIE, PA, United States Job Family : Engineering Job Type : Regular Posted : Aug 6, 2024 Job ID: 50850 Back to Search Results Job Description Apply Now > Save Job Job Saved The Tool Engineer II shall support the tool design needs primarily for the Rotary Wing Engineering and also support tooling needs for any Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) Division product development project.Tooling design will include but not be limited to mold design, metal processesing/manufacture, assembly and/or test fixtures, or other manufacturing equipment.The tool engineer shall also be responsible for managing tooling orders and tool suppliers. The tooling engineer shall also interface with the plant of manufacture to ensure that tool designs work with Parker Lord manufacturing equipment and drive modifications to tools as needed. Working in a Concurrent Engineering Team environment while continuously learning from and teaching of other team members. Reviewing and understanding customer's tooling needs and expectations. Clear and concise technical writing. Conceptualizing and designing innovative, cost-effective solutions that meet project expectations. Completion and/or coordination of appropriate analyses (thermal, flow, stack-up, etc) to support tool design. Support developing project plans and schedules and timely completion and documentation of all assignments. Support project proposals by developing quotable tooling concepts. Traveling to suppliers and customers to effectively represent Parker Lord tooling expertise. Leading team activities and integrating the efforts of cross-functional team members. Effectively document project closeout, lessons learned and future plans. Possess a working knowledge of manufacturing techniques (machining, casting, forging, rubber bonding etc) Participates in defining tooling approaches, and in planning and scheduling work. Identify and implement best practices. Review assigned projects, deliverables, and schedules within the project management system. Complete key deliverables as scheduled. Maintain awareness of and adherence to project schedules, resource commitments and financial commitments. Embrace the use of Parker Lord design/project tools such as Design Checklists, Risk Analysis, etc. Utilize Parker Lord standard process and best practices to the fullest extent.
