Role Overview: The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) will support scholars on the autism spectrum in a self-contained classroom setting. Reporting directly to the Manager of Specialized Services, the RBT will implement individualized behavior intervention plans and provide direct support to help scholars develop essential academic and social skills. This role focuses on creating a positive and inclusive learning environment tailored to meet the unique needs of each scholar. The self contained caseload is between 3-5 scholars in Kindergarten. Key Responsibilities: Behavioral Support: Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as directed by the lead special education teacher, collecting data on scholar progress and adapting strategies as necessary. Instructional Support: Assist the lead teacher in delivering instructional activities, reinforcing lessons, and providing one-on-one or small group tutoring to support academic development. Classroom Management: Support the lead teacher in maintaining a positive and orderly classroom environment by assisting with behavior management and ensuring all scholars are engaged in learning activities. Individualized Support: Provide targeted interventions to scholars, adapting instructional methods to meet individual needs, particularly for those who are neurodivergent. Assessment Assistance: Help administer assessments, monitor scholar progress, and provide feedback to the teaching team to inform instructional planning and interventions. Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with the lead teacher, scholars, and their families to ensure that academic and behavioral expectations are clear and consistently reinforced. Record-Keeping: Assist in maintaining accurate records of scholar progress, attendance, and behavior as directed by the lead teacher. Support Services: Prepare instructional materials and resources, and assist with setting up equipment or technology needed for lessons and interventions. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other paraprofessionals, teachers, and staff to support the overall educational goals of the school. Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance instructional skills and stay current with best practices in educational support. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate's degree or higher preferred. Current RBT certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) or willingness to obtain certification as a paraprofessional. Experience working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities in an educational setting preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to the needs of each scholar. Schedule: This is a full-time position. Hours will align with the school day schedule, typically from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications, typically ranging from $18 to $22 per hour.
