Directs, monitors, and leads accident investigations, safety inspections and audits; assists HR and Safety Committee in investigations to identify significant hazards and loss trends and identify and recommend preventative measures and corrective actions. Develops safety training schedule and creates awareness and incentive programs to support safety initiatives. Develops and maintains Safety Programs including Hazard Communications, Lock Out/Tag Out, Ergonomics, Emergency Response Team, Fire Prevention, Forklift Safety, Confined Space, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Emergency Preparedness & Facility Evacuation, etc. Oversees employee Return-to-Work (RTW) Program Directs, submits, and monitors records, summaries and reporting as required by OSHA and Corporate. Responsible for the analysis, preparation and maintenance of mandatory/regulatory related safety and environmental reports/records. Administers worker compensation program; works with Human Resources regarding claims administration, case closures and settlements, RTW Program and other insurance claim issues. Implements corporate and local safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations. Act as a resource to plant management teams regarding all security and safety issues. Present safety orientations for new employees; administer safety shoe program; handle plant hearing conservation program and Industrial Hygiene (IH) Program; oversee hazard communication program (SDS inventory) and equipment maintenance. Establish Safety Committee, maintains, chairs, and ensures the effectiveness and broad representation of the committee. Maintains Safety Manual, machine-specific information, training documentation Performs other special projects and duties as assigned. Oversee the safety of multiple locations with local Safety Representatives. Develop drawings of safety fixtures, additions, or improvements to properly document. Support Engineering Department with drawings, simulations and other support activities. Additional duties as directed by manager.
