Region Sales Managers are responsible to oversee the performance of the Regional Sales Team within the region or market they manage. This position is also responsible for leading and ensuring profitability and revenue of the market/region. Responsibilities of Position: Manage and motivate the Regional Sales Team to market and develop new business opportunities, as well as develop business relationships with the existing customer base, maximize the retention of revenue, and cultivate the strength of contractual relations. Monitor day-to-day selling and account development activities of sales representatives. Monitor productivity of sales staff to ensure sales goals are met or exceeded. Design and implement improvement strategies for under-performing sales representatives. Establish and maintain open communication with operations and staff to provide quality internal and external customer service. Assist leadership with monthly and annual budget reporting and preparation. Coach and train staff to determine customer solutions that are compliant with appropriate local, state and federal regulations. Maintain a thorough knowledge of Rumpke's services and pricing structure and develop staff to possess this knowledge. Ensure staff utilizes the company's customer relationship management tool (GMS Board) on a daily basis, scheduling and documenting activities, and developing prospective customer profiles. Manage staff to ensure required Customer Service Agreements, reports and other paperwork is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with Company policy. Develop and maintain an awareness of market behavior and competitive trends and ensure staff responds accordingly. Perform "ride-alongs" with staff and provide written feedback. Conduct regular scheduled sales meetings with a strong emphasis on Rumpke's customer relationship management tool, utilizing the Growth Management Board. Regularly meet with Sales Representatives to review their sales activities, progress on goals, and status of prospective customers. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility: This position will manage 6-10 employees. This position will oversee and direct other managers. Skills & Abilities Needed for Position: Excellent verbal and written communication skill, must present and communicate in a professional manner. Must possess strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate and follow-up on activities. Must be organized with good time management skills. Possess proven analytical/problem solving solutions for the customer and the company. Computer proficiency in Windows and Microsoft applications. Possess strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills. Must be self-motivated and able to motivate others to meet or exceed goals. Physical Requirements in a Regular workday: Rarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 20lbs. Rarely pushing/pulling a max of 10lbs. Continuously sitting/standing/walking in Office Environment. Additional Working Conditions/Aspects: Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas. Exposure to residential and commercial waste. Ability to travel between offices, as required. Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed. Legally eligible to work in the United States. Valid driver's license (if applicable). Must successfully complete pre-employment testing. Must be able to read and speak the English language. Qualifications Education High School (required) General Education Diploma (preferred) Bachelors of Relevant field (preferred) Experience Previous management experience preferred. (preferred) Experience working with the procurement process. (required) Experience in developing and executing territory sales strategies. (required) 5 years: Waste industry experience with an emphasis on outside sales and management.
