We are looking for a Manager - Major Projects - AMEA to oversee the planning and delivery of projects from initiation to completion, and focused on achieving business, Study and/or project objectives through study management, managing contracts, resources, budgets, changes, and risks and using data to drive decisions and insights. This role is a great opportunity to lead the planning and execution of a significant project portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Delivery, you will be: Development and maintenance of practices and standards associated with project management for Major Projects, aligned with that of Rio Tinto's Major Projects practices Ensure quality of delivery and engagement with other IS&T teams, including Technology Platforms Stakeholder management across the breadth of responsibilities from IS&T, to Major Projects, to Product Groups and Functions Monitoring and continuous improvement of application of practices and standards Implementation and management of KPIs and other metrics, both quantitative and qualitative Manages both internal and external stakeholder approvals to move the project through the various development stages, implementation and handover. Implements through the various study stages (i.e. Concept, Order of Magnitude, Prefeasibility and Feasibility) in accordance with approved parameters (i.e. HSE, scope, quality, budget, schedule, authority limits, etc.), accountable for the delivery of the PG/BU business case and project scope Lead cross-functional teams, including engineers, architects, and contractors, to ensure project success. What you'll bring To succeed in this role, you will have: Four-Year College degree in relevant related technical field. 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in project management in heavy industry, to include leading project teams and leading large projects and/or programs Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience with computer system applications, including Word, Excel, MS Project Expert and experienced project & Program delivery skills and competencies Expert PM Plus in delivery Understands the methods adopted by Major Projects in terms of WBS structures, chapters for feasibilities and package management Strength and curiosity in using data to drive improvements Able to dive into detail on projects that require support and then step back Superior supplier partnership management, outcome based, skills Knows the status of projects within the portfolio Strong people leadership in career development and performance management It will also be beneficial if you have: Project management certification or advanced project management training Broad understanding of program management, project management, project controls, business improvement, contract management, risk management & change management An MBA What we offer Be recognized for your contribution, your thinking and your hard work, and go home knowing you've helped the world progress.
