Position: Process Engineer Location: South Bend, IN Job Id: 308 # of Openings: 0 Otto is currently seeking an experienced process engineer to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role involves optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process engineering, with expertise in troubleshooting, analyzing data, and implementing improvements. Implementing and evaluating changes to improve product quality, productivity, and equipment efficiency. Providing technical leadership and mentorship to process technicians and operators. Supporting the Injection Molding team in producing quality products using scientific methods and processes. Assisting in equipment setup, operation, troubleshooting, and repair. Designs and implements systems and equipment procedures used in manufacturing facilities. Conducting research to develop new and improved processes for manufacturing Establish process conditions through scientific molding for new products Troubleshoot molding processes and material or equipment issues Evaluate tooling for areas of concern, areas of improvement for quality and efficiency, and recommend improvements to optimize molding, setup, and overall manufacturing Collect and analyze data on individual processes to identify and improve process capability Document and maintain mold process sheets for accuracy Support process technicians through training in scientific molding practices Leadership role in continuous improvement and cost reduction activities Use Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other techniques to analyze process data to determine capabilities as well as improvements Program robots and peripheral equipment Additional items as needed to ensure smooth operation of the plant Job Requirements 5+ years of hands-on experience in injection molding in addition to one of the technical degrees A working knowledge and experience with injection molding and ancillary equipment A working knowledge of a wide range of thermoplastic materials and their properties Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail Analytical skills for troubleshooting designs not working as planned, asking the right questions and finding answers that work Ingenuity for using the broad concepts of chemical engineering and applying them to address specific production problem Interpersonal skills in developing positive working relationships with other employees working with the production process Math skills for using the principals of advanced math topics including troubleshooting their work, calculus for analysis and design OTTO ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEMS The Company offers competitive pay commensurate with experience and rewards high performance.
