Regional Sales Manager - DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Business Title: Regional Sales Manager Job Title: Manager Department: Sales Classification Exempt Reports to: Director, Aftermarket Sales The Company Ameron Company Overview: AMETEK, Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices. Position Summary: This position will embrace the overall company growth strategy, define and lead the regional sales strategy, and direct all sales activities within the assigned East Coast territory. The ideal candidate will have experience in MRO business structure, excellent territory management techniques, and exemplary closing skills. Reporting to the Director, Aftermarket Sales, the role of the Regional Sales Manager is designed for those interested in driving business to a higher level of performance. This position will serve as an individual contributor responsible for regional sales targets, trade show attendance, account management and business development responsibilities. The preferred Candidate will have extensive industry relationships, experience developing detailed proposals and bid packages that provide competitive, value-based solutions to the customer. Our expectation is the Sales Leader will grow profitable sales Year on Year, increase the customer base, market share and overall profitability. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Meet or exceed goals and objectives while achieving overall margin goals. * Liaise with Ametek MRO's Engineering, Operations, Sales, Customer Service and Quality to develop and bring to market, value added propositions that grow sales and develop new customers. * Identify new opportunities with existing customers. * Utilize multiple techniques to find potential new customers for company products and capitalize on opportunities. * Identify new products and adjacent market opportunities. * Perform tactical functions: prepare multi-year quotes/proposals, manage sales/engineering/customer interface, and perform price negotiations with customers with direction from the management team. * Ensure that sales channel supports new product development goals of engineering & the growth objectives of the business. * Using Industry trade shows, conferences, and social media, position AMETEK as a Tier 1 I provider of nose to tail MRO and component manufacturing solutions to our targeted customers. * Support financial reporting including forecasting, budgets, and quarterly reporting requirements. * Reports potentially unsafe conditions. * Other duties as assigned. Education: * High School diploma required. * Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred Experience: * Minimum 5+ years of sales experience in aerospace including a FAA repair station and/or aftermarket sales Qualifications: * Accomplished sales leader with a proven track record of achieving targeted sales growth and account profitability with 7-10 years general aviation fixed wing and or rotor craft system or component MRO sales experience. * Experience interfacing with and representing a company to major and regional airlines, FBO, private owners. * Strong interpersonal, oral, presentation, and written communication skills * Excellent organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills * Exceptional negotiation skills are a prerequisite. * Ability to manage extensive travel schedule (up to 60% required) * Proposal generation and presentation according to company guidelines * Manage expense budget within assigned territory. * Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and simple database applications Direct Reports None Typical Working Conditions: (Describe environment including exposure to heat, cold, fumes, chemicals, etc.) * Work will be conducted mostly indoors in an office type environment. * The use of PPE su h as safety glasses and safety toed shoes are required in designated working areas. Must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation. * The ability to travel to customers regionally, nationally, or internationally as needed. * Regularly required to sit or stand, walk, bend, and reach with hands and arms. * Regular use of hands/fingers for handling, holding, grasping, and typing on a computer keyboard. * The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
