Summary: The Supervisor, Quality will oversee the Quality Assurance for the Haslet location and assist in formulations, labeling, and other quality functions. Responsibilities Oversees Quality Assurance function to ensure consistent and accurate quality for all materials related to product line, such as raw materials, bulk, packaging components and finished products, etc. (nutritional/dietary supplement) on a consistent basis. Employee Involvement/Data Driven Decisions: Develop cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Procedures) training materials that address gaps that are pertinent to Quality Assurance and Operations Departments. Employee Involvement/Data Driven Decisions: Develop Good Documentation Practices training materials that address gaps that are pertinent to Quality Assurance and Operations Departments. Continuous Improvement: Participate and maintain Root Cause Analysis, Corrective/Preventive Action, and Key Performance Indicator (swabs, deviations, GDP, etc) procedures that will drive Data Driven Decisions for the appropriate allocation of Quality Assurance resources. Represent the quality department in meetings, monthly, daily, and as assigned. Continual Improvement: Leverage KPI, and other supporting quality system data to improve upon Right the First-Time metrics. Establish, revise, and review Quality Assurance and Operations pertinent Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and Batch Record Review. Assist in the recall process including initiation, investigation, and product withdrawal. Reviews specifications for raw materials, components and finished products. Oversees hiring, performance, and development of department staff. Supervises and supports retention of batch records, MMRs, and retention samples. Performs monthly internal audits and subsequent reports. Ensures compliance with all regulatory policies and procedures related to product safety, quality control and quality assurance. Provides feedback of the current QA processes and systems and updates processes as needed. Supports design, development, and implementation of Quality Assurance training programs for all applicable QA staff, and other employees of the company. Supervisors QA personnel and human resources-related issues such as hiring, training, counseling, disciplining, performance evaluations, conflict resolutions to name a few. Escalate issues and provides continuous communication to quality leadership. Monitors and corrects performance issues real time, and appropriately documents issue and corrective action. Tracks and approves employee work schedules, workload and time off requests. Supervise workers engaged in inspection and in process testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity. Formulate, document, and maintain quality standards and on-going quality objectives. Works with other department managers and decision makers to ensure the goals of the company are achieved. Participates in meetings with staff and/or management to address any concerns related to quality. Maintains courteous, professional, and effective communication throughout the quality department and/or process, and with other departments. Provide, and oversee, inspection activity for product throughout production cycle. Works with analytical labs, suppliers, production, R&D, graphic, customer service departments and sales group on quality control, product development, product promotions and customer complaints and quality related inquiries. Performs any other related duties, as may be required. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in biosciences or equivalent Minimum three (3) years' supervisory role experience in c-GMP environment and related FDA regulations Working knowledge of GMP, DSHEA, FDA and Proposition 65 guidelines Thorough understanding of problem-solving and quality improvement tools and techniques Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a cross-functional team within a challenging environment. This position communicates with all levels of personnel, customers, and vendors. Strong oral communication skills are required to establish interpersonal relationships across the organization. Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs., climb step-up ladders, and perform constant motions of scooping, wiping, raising of arms, bending, and kneeling, if needed Ability to be exposed to nutraceutical raw materials and powders which may include allergen related items Ability to comprehend basic computer knowledge Ability to work independently and in a team environment Experience in food/pharmaceutical processing operations, FDA regulated industry, or combination of experience, education, and training that provides the level of knowledge, skills, and experience needed to perform the job successfully (preferred) A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $75,000 to $80,000. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
