Nuclear Medicine Technologist As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a vital role in our diagnostic imaging department. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of nuclear medicine procedures to help diagnose and treat various medical conditions. Your expertise will contribute to our mission of providing high-quality healthcare to our Albany, NY based facility. Key Responsibilities: Perform various nuclear medicine procedures, including but not limited to SPECT scans, PET scans, bone scans, cardiac stress tests, and thyroid uptake studies. Administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and in compliance with hospital protocols. Operate sophisticated imaging equipment to capture high-quality images, such as gamma cameras and PET/CT scanners. Monitor patients during procedures to ensure their comfort and safety. Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to provide accurate and timely reports on imaging findings. Maintain accurate records of patient information, procedure details, and radiopharmaceutical usage. Adhere to all radiation safety guidelines and protocols to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary exposure. Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of imaging equipment, reporting any malfunctions or issues promptly. Educate patients about the procedures and address any questions or concerns. Stay up-to-date with advancements in nuclear medicine technology and participate in continuing education programs to enhance skills and knowledge. Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field. Current certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) with a nuclear medicine specialization. State licensure as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in a hospital or healthcare setting. Proficiency in operating nuclear medicine imaging equipment and associated software. Strong understanding of nuclear medicine procedures, radiopharmaceuticals, and radiation safety protocols. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, focusing on patient care and comfort. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional on-call shifts.
