Proper Hospitality is seeking a dynamic and experienced Event Sales Manager to join the team at Shelborne Miami Beach by Proper, a renowned hotel re-opening and debuting in our portfolio in early 2025. Our property will introduce four vibrant new food & beverage destinations to the neighborhood, each suited for warm weather dining, with an all-day signature restaurant, a lobby bar-lounge, and curated cafe. Resort amenities will include a spacious pool and lush garden lounge, indoor-outdoor cabanas, sundeck terrace, state-of-the-art fitness center, dedicated access to a private beach club, and more than 15,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor meeting & event space. The Event Sales Manager is integral to driving Shelborne Miami Beach's event sales and executing bespoke experiences for our clientele. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a passion for creating memorable events, an expert in relationship building and skilled at maximizing revenue opportunities through proactive sales initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Sales Strategy & Business Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities to meet or exceed event sales goals; build relationships with corporate, social and wedding clients to generate leads and secure bookings Event Management: Partner with clients from the initial inquiry through to execution, ensuring every detail is meticulously planned and delivered; collaborate with hotel teams to ensure seamless event operations, including catering, AV and guest services Client Relationship Management: Cultivate long-term relationships with existing clients, fostering loyalty and encouraging repeat business; act as the main point of contact throughout the event planning process, providing personalized service and attention to detail Budgeting & Revenue Generation: Work with the Director of Sales to set revenue targets and create strategies to meet them; manage event budgets, prepare proposals and close contracts while maximizing profitability Marketing & Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute event marketing campaigns; participate in networking events, industry trade shows and community engagements to promote the Shelborne's event spaces Reporting & Analysis: Track sales activities and generate reports on event bookings, lead conversion and revenue growth; analyze market trends to adapt sales strategies and stay competitive in the luxury event space Qualifications Proven experience in event sales, hospitality or luxury hotel environment (3-5 years preferred) Strong understanding of luxury event planning, including corporate meetings, weddings and social events Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building strong client relationships Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple clients and events simultaneously Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets Proficiency in event management software and CRM systems A passion for hospitality, creativity, and delivering impeccable service Company Overview Proper Hospitality is made up of a diverse group of passionate individuals who share a common love for hotels and the art of hospitality.
