Position: Event Sales Manager Updated: April 2024 Reports to: Director of Sales & Marketing Job Type: Full-Time Exempt Southall is a premier destination bringing nature, produce and people together in a powerful and unique way. Southall is seeking an enthusiastic Event Sales Manager to join our team! The Event Sales Manager will primarily be responsible for Group and Catering sales under 15 rooms on peak at Southall and assist with the coordination and promotion of internal Programming events. Responsibilities Actively sell guest rooms and meetings to small groups, ensuring monthly and quarter goals are met Sell and service events booked within 60 days of event date Create timely and detailed Banquet Event Orders and Event Resumes for all own Contracted events / bookings Maintain accounts, contact, activity and business details within the appropriate software applications; Meet clients prior to departure to ensure all details of the contract were delivered and to solicit any future business; Conduct pre convention meetings as required Solicit new business, engage new clients, and rebook existing clients Ensure prompt and courteous service is extended to both internal and external customers Contract Tulip Poplar catering only bookings Work closely with the Conference Services, Culinary team and Front Office team to communicate group details Contract 15 rooms or less and event space, and service these bookings Obtain rooming list details and request deposits where applicable. Confirm and review function details with clients prior to arrival Provide site tours for clients and prospective clients Implements all sales action plans related to the respective market (by segment and geographical locations) as outlined in the Marketing plan. Follow all safety policies Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service Work within tight response deadlines Maintains positive relationships with all guests, vendors, colleagues and Global Sales network; To follow departmental policies and procedures; Other duties as assigned Skills and Experience 1-3 years Sales Manager experience in a luxury/upscale hotel or resort environment preferred Luxury Consortia Experience (Virtuoso, FHR, Signature) preferred Hotel/Resort opening experience preferred Strong organizational skills a must Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner, in order to solicit business, meet client needs and resolve complaints. Ability to move throughout the resort to conduct site inspections. Ability to listen, speak and write English to ascertain and respond to client needs. Knowledge of hotel and food & beverage operations Excellent time management, organization and detail-oriented skills Should be able to type at least 35 words per minute Compute basic arithmetic and mathematical calculations.
