Overview Renuity is seeking a Corporate Paralegal to join our team here in Charlotte! As a Paralegal at Renuity, you will play an important role in providing support the Legal Department and management team in many facets of corporate law, including creating and streamlining processes; general corporate governance and entity management; renewing and maintaining company licensing; general legal research; drafting and reviewing contracts, correspondence and other documents; managing legal intake and service of process; supporting in-house and outside counsel in claims, charges, and litigation, including placing and tracking legal holds. What You Will Do: Administers, tracks and manages legal process for new entity formation Creates entity foreign qualifications and DBAs Obtains EINS, SITs and SUIs Document management Conducts thorough legal research on various issues related to the home improvement industry, including construction law, state-by-state licensing requirements, and various aspects of selling products directly to consumers. Maintains up-to-date matrixes of various state requirements Reviews and summarizes regulations to provide accurate and concise summaries to management and other departments Drafts and prepares legal documents such as state licensing applications and lien filings. Assists in the management of litigation and dispute resolution, including developing response strategy, preparing and responding to discovery requests, collecting and producing documents, and placing, tracking and managing legal holds Assists business lines in response to routine customer non-payment matters Manages the response to routine subpoenas and wage garnishments Creates, manages, updates and applies checklists to manage documents, including leases, NDAs, and Certificates of Insurance Communicates with internal business leaders, government agencies, and outside counsel to ensure all necessary information is exchanged in a timely and professional manner Maintains accurate and organized records of legal documents and case information, including electronic databases the progress state of negotiations, and maintaining the company's legal files and records Assists with compliance and regulatory matters, including ensuring compliance with relevant state and federal laws and regulations, particularly in relation to state corporate and trade licenses Performs other duties as assigned by attorneys or management, such as legal research, document preparation, and general administrative tasks What You Will Bring: Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification from an accredited institution Minimum 8 years of experience corporate paralegal in-house experience supporting a legal team Superior organizational and time management skills Great attention to detail Strong understanding of corporate law and governance High degree of problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in legal research and writing Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other legal software Experience working in highly regulated and/or licensed industries Above-average judgment and a willingness to think about "why" we are doing something The pride that comes from a job well done Knowledge of relevant state and federal laws, as well as experience with legal research databases Creativity, resourcefulness and a general "Builder's Mindset" of constant improvement Working at Renuity "It's a lifestyle", our employees say.
