Wight is currently in search of a Transportation Assistant Resident Engineer/Senior Inspector with a strong professional drive with great passion and self-direction, to join our collaborative and engaging Transportation practice. RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyze applicable codes, standards, and specifications for compliance Monitor field testing Performs general field inspection of construction work Prepare IDR's and DCR's Monitor materials sampling and testing schedules Documentation of NCR's and QDR's Prepare SWPPP inspection and reports Interface with CM Quality Coordinator Participate in professional societies Certifications including STTP-S33, IFOT Mixture Aggregate, IDOT PCC Level 1 Monitoring the progress of contractor's work Maintaining Quantity Book Upkeep of Daily Logs and Contractor Logs Conducting weekly progress meetings Measure/record quantities in place Monitoring Field Staff Training of Field Staff QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering 15+ years' experience working with DOT, Illinois Tollway, or comparable transportation agencies Strong working knowledge of Microstation and GeoPak, or similar CADD experience GIS knowledge a plus A sense of humor Wight & Company is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
