Job Title: Sr. Electrical Engineer Job Duration: Oct 2024 - Jun 2025 (Temp with Temp-to-Hire option if workload permits) Work Type: Jamaica, NY 11434 ( Hybrid) Hybrid Work Schedule - 2 Days Are Required In The Office Description: T5 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to Client in April 2023. This $1.8+ billion contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA's Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and certain reimbursable programs, the FAA NextGen Program, national security programs and aviation safety. Specifically, work includes site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, drafting, contract surveillance, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA's nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work. Electrical Engineer will provide Infrastructure Engineering Support to include, but not limited to the following: Design low voltage power distribution systems. Prepare single line diagrams and wiring diagrams under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Coordinate design with other disciplines (i.e., civil, architectural, mechanical, structural, etc.) Adhere to Parsons policy for accurate project documentation for project files. Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable. Prepare standard engineering computations, material quality takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs. Prepare detailed requisitions for low voltage equipment and materials. Size conduit, conductors and overcurrent protection devices per the National Electric Code (NEC). Reviews small and portions of larger supplier drawing submittals and assists in performing technical bid analyses. Prepare and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents. Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project. Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Perform field surveys and collect required data as per project needs. Required Skills: BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college. (Third party evaluation of ABET equivalency may be accepted.) 8+ years of electrical design related experience in low voltage power distribution systems, data center design, power quality analysis, lighting systems, grounding, lightning protection and Uninterruptible Power Sources (UPS). Must be able to pass government background check. Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC). Proficiency in AutoCAD. Ability to work well under pressure and within budgeted hours and schedule. Preferred Skills: Previous experience in engineering consulting with federal agencies is preferred. Working knowledge of FAA standards and specifications is preferred. Familiar with construction practices and safe work procedures. Ability to solve problems with persons inside and outside an organization to find mutually beneficial solutions. Previous experience with lightning and grounding protection. Proficiency in Bluebeam. Proficiency in SKM and the ability to perform short circuit, coordination and arc flash analyses.
