Posting Details Position Information Position Title LMRCSC Recruiter & Coordinator of Leveraged Programs Job Type Staff Position Information The Department of Natural Sciences is accepting resumes for a full-time, grant funded, exempt position of a Recruiter and Coordinator of Leveraged Programs at the NOAA Living Marine Resources Cooperative Science Center (LMRCSC). The individual selected for the position will begin on January 2, 2022 or earlier. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The Department of Natural Sciences offers B.S. degrees in various disciplines, and M.S and Ph.D. interdisciplinary programs in Marine-Estuarine Environmental Sciences (MEES) and in Toxicology, and a Professional Science Master's degree in Quantitative Fisheries and Resource Economics. Responsibilities Lead the student recruitment efforts LMRCSC and coordinate leveraged programs. Develop and implement the LMRCSC center-wide plans and strategies to recruit potential students for internships and undergraduate graduate programs in the LMRCSC institutions. Design and produce recruitment materials and disseminate them to a network of contacts at various high schools, community colleges and universities. Visit high schools and colleges to speak with students and meet with faculty, and counselors, as well as arrange visits from prospective students and their parents. Help to foster partnerships between Center institutions and school system. Coordinate the LMRCSCF virtual recruitment events, attend professional/scientific meetings and staff the LMRCSC booth. Facilitate campus tours and assist students in completing forms. Track and develop strategies for evaluating the outcomes of various recruitment approaches and events, and prepare annual reports of recruitment events and outcomes. Coordinate/assist with the Center's leveraged programs: Geoscience Bridge Program, NASA SaSa program, Partnership Education Program (PEP), Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU), and N FISH program. Recruit interns. Make travel and lodging arrangements of students and participating scientists. Register students for classes. Coordinate and participate in field trips, and performing day-to-day activities required to make the program successful. Supervise students selected to serve as Resident Assistants of the high school interns. Assist with updating of the Geosciences Program Website and application forms, and ordering of supplies. Performs other related duties as assigned. Classification Farming, Fishing, and Forestry Occupations Required Qualifications B.S. degree in biology, marine science, environmental science, social science, civil/environmental engineering, atmospheric science or a related field from an accredited institution. Proficiency in using computerized database programs. Preferred Qualifications M.S. or higher degree. Previous experience recruiting students into undergraduate and graduate programs. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Knowledge of student recruitment issues. Ability to read and understand admission, degree and graduation requirements. Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and coordinate a recruitment and/or a summer program. Great interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals. Ability and willingness to travel.
