Instrumentation and Controls Engineer Location: Fort Worth, TX Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 per year + 4% annual bonus Job Summary: The Instrumentation and Controls Engineer will report to the Maintenance and Engineering Manager and will be responsible for overseeing the site's instrumentation, process controls, and Management Information Systems (MIS). This role involves installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining PLC hardware and software, control devices, monitoring equipment, and managing project initiatives focused on electrical and instrumentation improvements. Essential Responsibilities: Troubleshoot, repair, and program various PLC control systems Develop and write ladder logic and graphical interfaces for plant's PLC and control computers Create documentation for control programming and process/safety interlocks Install and repair process devices like variable speed drives, encoders, power supplies, etc. Design and implement information system projects (e.g., security, networks, PCs) Develop engineering specifications and wiring diagrams Lead projects to upgrade site instrumentation, controls, HMI software, VFDs, and more Create and update standard operating procedures for process control systems Assist in automating reports using PLC/HMI software Maintain and enhance site security and IT systems Ensure compliance with Quality, Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security policies Perform additional duties as required Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, or Electrical Engineering 3-5 years of experience in instrumentation, process controls, and HMI systems Field work training/experience in related areas preferred Ability to work extended hours on weekdays, weekends, and holidays Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, P&IDs, ladder diagrams, technical manuals Knowledge of PLC control and HMI systems Physical ability to operate electronic office equipment and work in a manufacturing environment Physical Requirements: Operate electronic office equipment and computers Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds Bend, stoop, reach, twist at the waist Work in varied conditions in a manufacturing environment Ability to climb ladders or work at heights Wear personal protective equipment as required
