Additional Job Description: West Virginia University School of Medicine , Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Pediatric Cardiologist qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. The successful candidate will join our growing Division of Pediatric Cardiology, and will support our patient population on the Children's Hospital campus and throughout the state through our robust pediatric cardiology outreach program that includes outreach clinics, telemedicine clinics and outreach diagnostic testing. We currently have specialists in the areas of general cardiology, advanced imaging, interventional catheterization, noninvasive and invasive electrophysiology, adult congenital heart disease and preventive cardiology. Duties: The successful candidate will practice in all areas of Pediatric Cardiology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, he or she will be actively involved in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. Qualifications: Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain a state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed Pediatrics residency program, as well as a Pediatric Cardiology fellowship program. Successful candidates must be board certified / eligible in Pediatric Cardiology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. WVU Medicine Children's Hospital is a tertiary care center for the state of West Virginia, Western Maryland, Southwestern Pennsylvania, as well as Southeastern Ohio. We have the only cardiothoracic surgery program in the state, and we offer surgical interventions for the full range of congenital heart defects. Our new 150 bed Children's Hospital has a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology, and GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff. The hospital includes 34 pediatric beds, 54 NICU beds, 31 PICU beds, Heart Institute, and a dedicated Cancer Institute. WVU Medicine Children's is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently. The Women's Pavilion houses a 30-bed obstetrical unit and maternal-fetal medicine clinic. J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in West Virginia with a pediatric cardiac surgery program, the only epilepsy monitoring unit in the state equipped to serve children, and the only hospital in the state to receive Magnet status for nursing excellence. The West Virginia University Health System is West Virginia's largest health system and the state's largest employer.
