Position Details Position Information Job Type Non-Faculty Position Title Senior Assistant Director of Admissions Position Number E00113 Department Admissions & Recruitment Location Morehouse College - Atlanta, GA Position Summary The Senior Assistant Director of Admissions (SADA) is instrumental in orchestrating all aspects of recruiting new students to Morehouse College. The SADA will be responsible for recruitment within an assigned territory and contributing to achieving recruitment and enrollment goals. This person will provide outstanding customer service to all Morehouse College constituents, prospective students, their families, Morehouse alumni, and all persons engaged in the line of work at Morehouse College. The SADA will be responsive and maintain ongoing and appropriate communications/follow-up with prospective students and admitted students. The SADA will serve in a leadership capacity. Required Qualifications • Master's Degree • 3-5 years of full-time work experience in admission, college advising, college counseling, financial literacy, or financial education. • Experience planning and conducting small and large group presentations and/or programs. • Knowledge of admission recruitment and financial aid cycles. Preferred Qualifications • Experience working with Slate, a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. • Knowledge of Argos reporting. Preferred Education/Experience Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Serve as an Admissions representative in New Student enrollment activities including attending College Enrollment meetings. • Serve as liaison to Trellis and other partners in enrollment activities for newly admitted students. • Lead a team of cross-functional departments and volunteers at new student help centers (triage) to execute enrollment functions at MVP, NSO, etc. to complete the enrollment process. • Support cross-functional efforts to effectively and timely enroll new students. • Ability to effectively communicate in person and in writing and be able to speak publicly. • Should possess high energy, attention to detail, and the ability to organize effectively. • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle. • Ability to travel by plane. • Ability to work nights and weekends is necessary. • Ability to represent Morehouse College professionally, and positively through a strong, student-centered ethic. • Knowledge of computer databases and standard software programs, most notably Microsoft Office • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Physical Demands Essential Duties/Responsibilities Essential Duties/Responsiblities • Recruit and govern territory assignments. • Counsel and advise prospective students and their families about costs and financial aid. • Perform unofficial transcript evaluations, degree audits, and program planning with transfer students. • Supervise work-study students in the office of admissions. • Manage the Student Ambassador program including scheduling, leadership, training, tracking adherence to requirements, and more to ensure an efficient, effective, collaborative, positive program for all participants, Morehouse guests, staff and faculty. • Serve as Admissions lead for the New Student Help Center, working with the Events Manager and cross-functionally with other enrollment departments to provide a smooth process for newly admitted students • Manage the pre-collegiate programs partnering with academic affairs and other critical internal and external partnerships • Read and Evaluate Applications • Communicate respectfully and build relationships of trust with people of all cultures and abilities, affirming the worth and preserving the dignity of individuals, families, and communities. • Track activities throughout the engagement journey with each student, including but not limited to phone conversations, emails, event registration, and attendance. • Reports to the Director of Traditional Admissions and Recruitment ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES as assigned Percentage Of Time Posting Detail Information Posting Number S950P Number of Vacancies 1 Job Open Date 05/23/2024 Job Close Date Open Until Filled Yes Special Instructions Summary EEO Statement Summary Morehouse College is an equal opportunity employer.
