WYATT FIELD SERVICE COMPANY POSITION TITLE: Accounts Payable Specialist REPORTS TO: Accounting Manager POSITION SUMMARY: Perform a variety of clerical tasks related to the maintenance/processing of accounts payable. FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB Essential Functions Incorporate safety and environmental responsibility into daily action. Incorporate positive interpersonal skills when communicating or interacting with customer, subcontractor, vendor, craft and Wyatt personnel. Employ organizational skills that effectively minimize obstacles that negatively impact the project. When obstacles arise, employ sound decision making/problem solving skills to resolve the issue. Date stamp all incoming invoices. Check accuracy of invoices. Match invoices with receivers and purchase orders. Route invoices for approval. Code invoices not associated with a PO, including expense reports. Input invoices and develop a weekly check run, copy and file invoices. Run accounts payable checks weekly. Check vendor statements for accuracy. Resolve all invoice discrepancies with Procurement Department and vendors. Maintain the active purchase order files. Provide information for employment verifications, unemployment questionnaires, and employees seeking year to date information. POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Knowledge: High School Diploma or equivalent with some exposure to accounting principles. Experience: Moderate (2 or more years) experience in an accounting position. Equipment and Work Aids: (Which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.) Computer hardware and software, including: Microsoft Office (Windows, Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint); cost tracking software: (ViewPoint); internet use and innovation. Ability to learn other software, if required, with company-provided training.
