Job Title: Payroll and HRIS Specialist Summary The Payroll and HRIS Specialist will oversee and supervise the organization's payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations and will provide HR system support by working with the HR team to ensure accurate, timely and efficient processing of HR system transactions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. Performs all other duties as assigned. Complies with the requirements of the company's ISO 9001 Quality Management System (when required). Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors. Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures. Coordinate to ensure system accessibility and timely resolution of HRIS issues. Process employees' queries and respond in a timely manner. Provide reporting, metrics or presentations as assigned. Participate in various HRIS initiatives to help support business needs. Create and maintain HRIS procedures and end-user job aids. Monitor daily scheduled HRIS alerts and reports. Perform security administration tasks such as unlocking accounts and resetting passwords to resolve access issues. Supervise employees on payroll process. Supervisory Responsibilities Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department. Oversees the daily workflow of the department. Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations. Required Education/Experience/Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required. Three to five years of Strong Working Knowledge of HRIS systems similar to ADP Workforce Now Strong with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficient with payroll software. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Preferred Education/Experience/Skills Ten or more years of experience and extensive knowledge of the payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
