Job Description • Possess excellent work ethic and communication skills and enjoy working in a geographically diverse environment. • Driven desire to understand existing infrastructure with an eye on improvement with new emerging technologies. • Passionate about learning network architecture and design network solutions, problem solve, support a global team and partner with the business • Performance and uptime are your key metrics, and you always have security in mind • You never shy away from a technical challenge and look to improve efficiencies in process and automation • WiFi, On-prem, public cloud, SDWAN, and MAN/WAN/LAN network experience Responsibilities • Maintains a thorough knowledge of existing network and/or security hardware and software in use to provide third-tier technical and administrative support and provide complex internal analysis and support of the network and/or security infrastructure. • Acts as the technical interface with vendors and other external stakeholders and reviews/makes recommendations on the network and/or security service / maintenance arrangements. • Proven technical troubleshooting and performance tuning experience. • Reviews technical documentation of supported environments to ensure that documentation is accurate and up to date - firm believer in documentation. • Install and configure WAN and LAN hardware to include voice, video, and data cable systems. Develops system specifications, architecture designs, integration and test plans, and all relevant documentation. • Develops risk management and mitigation strategy. Maintain compliance with QA standards as well as ensuring service performance indicators are met or exceeded. • Works individually and actively participates on integrated teams to support the customers deployable networks supporting multiple mission partners at multiple locations • Analyzes designs, develops, and/or maintains both hardware and software needed for network communications including local area networks (LANs) wide area networks (WANs), the internet, intranets, and other data communication systems. • Communicates complex concepts and data effectively and creatively (both written and oral) across multiple organizations, both internal & external, and with executive company and customer management. • Performs design, engineering, implementation, maintenance, and upgrade of the local area networks (LAN)s and/or wide area network (WAN), and/or security infrastructure. • Network design, engineering, and implementation (Advanced Level) • Creation of network related Bill of Material (BOM) equipment lists and costing. • Ability to work weekends and evening hours as needed • IT audit, network, and system security Essential Career Experience • Relevant Cisco/Palo Alto Network Support, engineering, and Administration • Possesses experience with most common network components to include routers, switches, firewalls, protocols, VoIP, DNS, remote access, VPN, routing, and switching. Also has knowledge of TCP/IP routing technologies including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP, in addition to knowledge of applicable business lines/industries. • Technical experience in Active Directory and Network and Transport technologies, tools, and techniques • Deep understanding of layer 2/layer 3 networking details, like arp, mac-address-table, VLANs, trunking, port-aggregation, VRFs, VXlan, VTP, static routing, OSPF/BGP routing, SIP, upgrade processes • High level of expertise in Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco firewalls, particularly Firepower OS and management tools, Cisco routers, and Cisco switches • Five years of network management systems including PRTG, SolarWinds, Logic Monitor, Cisco DNA, and Palo Alto Panoram • Experience with CISCO and Extreme network solutions • Experience with Network analysis tools (Solar Winds Network Management, PRTG, SolarWinds, Logic Monitor, Cisco DNA, and Palo Alto Panorama etc.)
