Full-Time School Bus Driver

Position: Full-Time School Bus Driver Qualifications: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Must hold a valid state-issued CDL-Class B Drivers' License with Endorsements P and S or reasonable assurance they will hold a CDL-Class B Drivers' License with Endorsements P and S by the start of the current school year. Must be able to pass and maintain a DOT Physical Must be able to pass a DOT Drug screen and will be subject to random DOT drug testing Complete and pass an American Red Cross First Aid/ CPR course. Pass pre-employment alcohol/drug screening test. Will be subject to random drug/ alcohol testing programs. Reports To : Director of Transportation and Maintenance FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Essential Functions: Obeys all traffic laws and safety regulations for school buses Practices good public relations practices and is a positive representative of the school system Keeps assigned bus clean Checks bus before and after each operation for mechanical defects Checks all buses for gas, oil, washing (cleaning inside and out), and report other mechanical failures to the Director of Transportation & Maintenance. Transports only authorized students Enforces district behavior code for bus drivers Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information Supervises students and maintains discipline when on the bus Assist with minor maintenance and grounds projects within the district Reports all accidents and completes required reports Performs such other related duties as assigned by the district administration Terms of Employment: Salary and work schedule to be determined by the Board. Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy and Classified Handbook.
