We are seeking a force multiplier Staff Data Scientist to amplify the collective impact of the Data Science team at Noom. This role requires a highly skilled individual who excels in analytics, machine learning, and system design. The ideal candidate will help drive our product vision and business strategy by optimizing the Noom user experience, business operations, and financial decision-making through application of sophisticated data analysis and machine learning. Although this person will not have direct reports, this is a role that will be expected to lead through influence, including technical mentorship and oversight of more junior Data Scientists. What You'll Be Doing: Partner with stakeholders across Noom to identify opportunities and implement scalable Data Science systems and working models that supercharge team and company impact Interface with and influence the Engineering and Software Architecture teams, representing the needs and viewpoints of Data Science Drive technical scale by establishing development standards that guide how we build, QA, deploy, monitor, evaluate, and iterate in Data Science Increase organizational scale by implementing new frameworks, skills training, and people processes across the Data Science team Actively seek and implement new and cutting edge Data Science methods and technologies to drive business results Mentor Junior Team Members: Provide guidance and mentorship to our team of data scientists and analysts, promoting a culture of learning and collaboration What We're Looking For: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Psychology, or similar. Graduate degree preferred. Professional Experience: Minimum of 8 years of professional industry experience in data science with at least some focus on business operations, marketing, or financial analysis Required Technical Skills and Experience: Expertise in statistical analysis and business metric definition, applied machine learning (including model evaluation), and optimization techniques Proficient in SQL, Python, Spark, and Git Experience working with both open source software and proprietary ML vendors Experience designing both batch production and realtime ML systems Preferred Technical Skills and Experience: GenAI GCP Vertex Platform Databricks MLOps Strong problem-solving and influence skills with the ability to perform complex quantitative analysis and use data to drive strategic decisions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences and executive leadership. Demonstrated success working collaboratively in a team environment and independently defining and managing projects with multiple stakeholders. Base Salary: The expected base salary for this position is $231,000 - $312,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting is based on Noom's estimate as of the date of publication and reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position across all US locations. The actual placement of the candidate within the range is based on factors including but not limited to relevant experience, assessment of functional skills and behavioral competencies, scope, and location. This range is not inclusive of any discretionary bonus or equity package. Other Elements of the Rewards Package: Noom currently offers a comprehensive and generous total rewards package.
