WSP USA Buildings Inc.Job Title: Senior Mechanical EngineerLocation: 433 River Street, 7th Floor, Troy, NY 12180Duties: Produce high quality technical and professional deliverables for projects and proposals. Design complex and large air distribution (supply, return, exhaust) and hydronic systems (chilled water, heating water, etc.). Work within multi-discipline project teams to develop drawing and specification documents for issuance to architects, contractors and building owners. Attend client meetings and lead discussions. Communicate complex mechanical engineering concepts and decisions to clients and stakeholders. Directing complex mechanical engineering requirements and integrate into facility designs. Collaborate and coordinate with internal project discipline team members and external equipment vendors and manufacturers. Act as the lead mechanical engineer on projects and direct the project team. Lead and mentor a team of engineers. Coordinate activities concerned with technical development, scheduling, and resolving engineering design issues. Survey and evaluate existing conditions. Perform construction administration. Calculations for Mechanical systems: Plant and Equipment Sizing, Code ventilation, Wet and Dry system pressure drop calculations, Specifications, Evaluate energy efficiency & PUE, Perform CFD, Pipeflow, and Pipe Stress Analysis. Maintain engineering contact from concept, through design, and construction. 25% domestic travel required. Salary $131,227. Equal Opportunity Employer. Standard corporate benefits.Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field required. Five (5) years' experience as a Principal Engineer, Assistant Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or related. Experience must include: preparing Design Basis Reports with complete references, technical specification of all related works and mechanical equipment/systems, tender, and Bill of Quantity for HVAC Works; designing Building Management System comprising of Input/Output summary, schematic diagram, and Bill of Quantity for optimizing performance of HVAC systems; designing, drafting, and documenting calculations, including pipe sizing, heat loss, and ventilation flow, for multiple high-rise residential, healthcare, and commercial projects using CIBSE Standards, Magic CAD, and REVIT 3D software; and utilizing Integrated Environment Solutions (IES) software and Building Energy (BE 10) calculations for building energy simulation analysis, assessment of energy efficiency, HVAC system performance and life cycle cost analysis.
