Overview: Under limited supervision, this person is responsible for the repair and maintenance of the diagnostic imaging related equipment located in various modalities throughout the health system. The position reports directly to the Director of Clinical Engineering and works with the Clinical Engineering Operations manager responsible for assuring that all equipment related maintenance services are in compliance with standard regulatory agencies. The imaging engineer also assures that all vendor contract maintenance for MRI, CT, Cardiac Cath, Angiography and Ultrasound are handled in accordance with any existing contract agreement. Qualifications: EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE Education and Work Experience: Must possess a high school diploma or GED Must possess an associates degree in Electrical/Mechanical engineering, Biomedical Engineering Technology equivalent, OEM service training or CBET credentials are excepted. A minimum of three years experience in field service experience in performing maintenance on radiographic and floroscopy equipment. Experience in the installation, testing and repair of such equipment. OEM training from Siemens, GE Medical Systems or other major Imaging company leaders are an asset. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS License Requirements: N/A Certification Requirements: N/A Age Specific Care Provided For: N/A Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following: Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel Microsoft Outlook Meditech (if applicable to position) Epic (if applicable to position) Performance Manager/NetLearning Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner. Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public. Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. Other Requirements: Knowledge of the priniciples and practices of Electronics or Electromechanical Technoloy as applied to the calibration of Radiology Equipment. Familiar with portable X-Ray equipment, floro and Radiographic generators. Must be versed in the use of radiological testing devices.
