Job Title: Construction Superintendent Location: Chicago, Illinois Project: Prestigious Airport Development Company: Top General Contractor Salary $100,000 - $130,000 Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Construction Superintendent to oversee a significant airport development project in Chicago for a top general contractor. This role involves managing all on-site construction activities, ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in large-scale construction projects, particularly in the transportation or infrastructure sectors, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and stakeholder communication. Key Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and applicable regulations. Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and labor forces to ensure project timelines are met. Implement and enforce safety protocols and ensure all site personnel are trained on safety procedures. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with contract documents. Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including the project manager, architects, engineers, and local authorities. Prepare and maintain project schedules, budgets, and reports, identifying any issues and proposing solutions. Facilitate meetings with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to discuss project progress, address challenges, and ensure alignment on goals. Ensure proper documentation of construction processes, changes, and progress through daily reports and logs. Advocate for best practices in construction methods and materials, aiming for continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications: Minimum of 6+ years of experience as a Superintendent with GC or GC CM with a focus on large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly airports or similar facilities. Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality standards. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with a keen attention to detail. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working with diverse teams. Proficient in construction management software and tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam). OSHA certification and other relevant safety certifications are highly desirable.
