Job Description: We are seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer to join our team for the development and optimization of solar tracker controllers. As part of our dynamic engineering team, you will contribute to the design, testing, validation, and implementation of our solar tracker control system technologies including the tracker controller, sensors, and the main Array Controller. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, be eager to learn, and have a passion for renewable energy technologies. You will be part of a team that includes senior electrical engineers, software and firmware engineers, electrical engineer technician and other departments to bring an innovative solar tracker control system solution to production and beyond. Key Responsibilities: Design and Development: Assist in the design, development, and testing of solar tracker controllers, ensuring that designs meet performance and safety standards. Including supporting the development of system requirement documentation, and system implementation documentation. Circuit Design: Support the development of circuit diagrams, wiring schematics, and PCB layouts for solar tracking systems using tools such as Altium. Circuit simulation using tools such as LTspice and MATLAB. Writing up report document based on simulation results with clear summaries of key findings. System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate solar tracker controllers with other components, such as sensors and motor drive systems. Work closely with firmware engineers to develop hardware and firmware interface documentation. Providing support documentation for a cloud monitoring portal. Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct electrical testing, troubleshooting, and validation of prototypes and production units, identifying and resolving issues eMiciently and creating clear documentation stating findings. Be familiar with working in lab environments and using lab tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generator, and handheld tools (cutting pliers, cramping tools). Firmware and Software: Assist in developing and optimizing embedded systems, including firmware programming and real-time control algorithms for solar tracking devices. Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data from testing to improve the system performance, reliability, and efficiency. Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and user manuals. Compliance & Standards: Ensure that designs comply with relevant industry standards, electrical codes, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications:. Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field. BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an accredited university. Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering principles. Candidate should be coachable while being assertive and independent Experience: 0-1 year of professional experience in electrical design, renewable energy, or control systems (college courses and internship/ co-op experience can be considered in lieu of professional experience). Technical Skills: o Basic knowledge of circuit design, electrical components, and power systems for low-voltage and or high-voltage systems o Proficient in completing engineering calculations, including load summaries, breaker sizes, voltage drop, and fault current on low-voltage and high-voltage systems. o Lab tools (power supply, functional generator, soldering iron, logic analyzer, network analyzer) o Good understanding of the NFPA 70E National Electrical Code o Familiarity with microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators. o Experience with CAD tools for schematic design (e.g.Altium). o Familiarity with programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or MATLAB. o Hands-on experience with testing equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.). Soft Skills: o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. o Good communication and teamwork abilities. o Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with embedded systems or motor control systems. Familiarity with renewable energy technologies and industry trends. Basic knowledge of control systems and algorithms used in solar tracking applications. Basic understanding of solar photovoltaic systems and solar trackers is a plus.
