Job Title: RN - MEDICAL TELEMETRYShift: Location: Reno, NV 89511Start Date: 11/04/2024Duration: 13 weeksDuties: These nurses would primarily care for patients boarding in the ED due to hospital capacity however, could be moved to cover staffing on telemetry or med/surg should they not be needed for holding patient in the ED. They would not be asked to manage ED patients or take an ED assignment.•Involves the patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population specific, and diversity needs in care assessment.•Constructs and implements the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill. Integrates direct and indirect patient care activities related to the diagnosis and co-morbidities.•Coordinates the implementation of the interdisciplinary plan of care for assigned patients. Develops goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet individual patient/family needs.•Consistently completes hourly rounds with purpose to strengthen nurse communication, improve safety, and anticipate patient needs (i.e. pain, re-positioning, toileting). Rounds with purpose including pro-actively evaluating the environment to ensure it is patient friendly and patient safe.•Collaborates with the patient's designated care partner to meet the educational, physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of the patient.•ctively participates in bedside report (as appropriate) to ease anxiety and address important points of care, concerns, and progress with the patient/family. •Provides patients with caregiver name and contact information each shift. •Provides care that is respectful of and responsive to the patient values in clinical decision making.•Supports and informs the patient and family of hospital specific components of the Patient Centered Care Delivery model. Examples may include informing the family of open medical record policy, supports open family visitation, family presence during resuscitation and other invasive procedures and promotes a quiet environment. Skills: •Demonstrates supportive behaviors necessary for performing bedside report using IMAP & SBAR (both accomplished in partnership with patient inside room) •Demonstrates competence admitting and discharging patients from the unit•ble to complete vaccination screening and document administration or refusal of vaccination accurately•Initiates diagnosis appropriate care plans on all admissions•Competent in the use of the Alaris IV pump for general module, PCA, syringe pump, and secondary administration.•Demonstrates competence in the application, assessment, and documentation related to restraints. •Competent in the safe administration of narcotics via PCA pump and completes all documentation. •bility to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred.•Basic computer knowledge Education: •Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.•Current state or compact nursing license. •Current NIHSS, ACLS & BLS certificate. •2+ years full time Tele experience in acute care setting. PCU experience preffered. •Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility. Schedule Notes: must live 25 miles away On Call: potentially but not the standard Must be able to read cardiac rhythms PCU experience preferred
