Position Title: Special Programs Manager Department: Education & Community Partnerships Reports To: Allison Bret, Director of Education & Community Partnerships Type: Full-time; exempt Compensation: $50,000-$59,000 annual salary paid twice-monthly Schedule: Normal weekday hours with some evening and weekend event shifts based on department programming Location: Music Hall at Fair Park with up to four days per week remote work as assigned by supervisor Desired Start: November 1, 2024 Position Summary: Spread the spirit of Broadway and promote excellence in musical theatre by joining a growing Education and Community Partnerships Department at Broadway Dallas! The Special Programs Manager primarily focuses on Broadway Dallas' High School Musical Theatre Awards (HSMTA) program as the primary contact between Broadway Dallas and participating schools as well as visiting adjudicators. The individual will also serve as the manager for additional HSMTA support events including scholarships, portfolio reviews, HSMTA ceremony production support, and the Jimmy Awards"”all providing structure and logistical support to Broadway Dallas' most popular education program. This position will also aid the Education Program Manager on special events, including summer camps and Dallas ISD partnership programs including annual in-classroom STEM curriculum development around a touring Broadway show's themes and culminating in 3400 DISD students/teachers seeing the show in the Music Hall at Fair Park. While this position is focused on Broadway Dallas' education efforts, they will also be a leader in a department dedicated to serving and further supporting the thriving arts community of South Dallas/Fair Park. This position requires regular on-site work in and around the Music Hall at Fair Park. Familiarity with Fair Park and its surrounding neighborhoods is strongly preferred. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Collect and organize school applications Collect and organize other registrations/applications Website content maintenance HSMTA adjudicator scheduling and management, including being the primary point of contact for weekend adjudicator shifts Coordinating and attending all HSMTA supplementary opportunities including: Showcases Master classes Performances Scholarships Portfolio reviews Audition day Coordinating HSMTA ceremony production tasks including: Schedule and execute catering plans to budget and desired timing Book and maintain rehearsal venues Collect and organize student participant contact and other information Schedule and be present for all rehearsals including the technical rehearsals the week of the awards ceremony Scheduling production meetings, take notes and execute action items Provide input on future HSMTA scholarship policies and procedures to ensure they benefit the most deserving students Draft, schedule, post, report, and optimize content for HSMTA on specific Instagram account Coordinate with marketing personnel on HSMTA content on other Broadway Dallas social media channels Annually chaperoning the National High School Musical Theatre Awards"”also known as The Jimmy's Supporting Education & Community Partnerships events as necessary during HSMTA off-season, including administrative, curricular, and in-person attendance at all: Summer camp programming days DISD Days (performances attended by students) Plan for additional future programming aligned with organizational strategic plan goals and in-line with Broadway Dallas' purpose, mission, vision, and values Liaise with other departments and contractors on collaborative interdepartmental projects and programs such as fundraising efforts, productions/presentations, etc. Attending tabling and marketing opportunities for Broadway Dallas Education Community Partnerships programming Requirements: Three or more years of experience in program and/or event management, preferably involving K-12 students in educational theater settings such as after-school care, performing arts programs, or college readiness programs Experience in theatrical event production: stage management; technical/design work; producer, etc. Demonstrated proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite of programs, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Demonstrated familiarity with online form (Jotform, or other), scheduling software (Connecteam, or other) Hold a valid driver's license and have regular access to a motor vehicle or other reliable means of transportation to and from the Music Hall Move and position items up to 20 pounds Traverse the Music Hall and similarly sized campus areas multiple times in one shift/day High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Experience creating and teaching curriculum for theater education/community programs in a school or arts organization setting Demonstrated impeccable oral and written communications skills Working knowledge of musical theatre and Broadway tours Program evaluation and assessment experience Box office, customer service, or ticketing experience Photography Fluency in Spanish Demonstrated interest in theatre/live events B.A., M.A. or other degree/certification in related field About Broadway Dallas: The non-profit Broadway Dallas has presented the best of Broadway touring productions to North Texas audiences since 1941.
