AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC

S Automotive & Fleet Services is an independent auto repair shop serving Reading, PA, Wyomissing, PA, Shillington, PA, and surrounding areas. We are a NAPA AutoCare Center with ASE-certified technicians on staff who undergo continuous training to stay up to date on the best repair practices for your vehicle. We're also on hand for preventive maintenance.As a mechanic you will be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance work on vehicles and trucks. Working on all parts of the vehicle, including but not limited to the engine, exhaust system, air conditioning system and electrical system. The mechanic is also responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and fixing problems, as well as overseeing routine maintenance inspections.RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB AND ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:Provide customer satisfaction through excellent service.Perform maintenance and repair of vehicles in a fast-paced environment.Have a working knowledge of current industry best practices in automotive repair.Conduct diagnostic procedures to determine the sources of customers problems and provide accurate repair.Plan repair procedures using charts, manuals and spect vehicles according to state requirements for emissions and safety.Conduct necessary repairs and take vehicles for test drives to verify soundness.Maintain legible and accurate paperwork for both the customer and for garage records.Maintain a clean working environment and adhere to workplace safety procedures.Skills and RequirementsKnowledge of diagnostic tools and equipmentKnowledge of electrical, mechanical, and electronic components of vehiclesKnowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methodsTechnical understanding of modern automobilesSkilled in the use of garage tools and equipment in the repair of automobilesHigh school diploma or equivalentCertification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeshipMinimum one (1) year auto mechanic experience, requiredIf you are interested in this position, please complete an application today!Who we are: Apis Services, Inc. is one of the top 25 employers in Berks County, PA.
