Job descriptionNexien Inc. is looking to hire 2 Structural Engineers based in Newport News, VA for a 12 Month contract for additional support to perform engineering evaluations and analysis to properly maintain and improve all Shipyard facilitiesThe ideal candidate should have a strong criticalanalytical thinking, effective communication and strong time management.Full-Time - 12 Month contract with Nexien Inc - Confidential Clearance RequiredShift: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM - 1st shiftRelocation: No relocation assistance availableOnsite in Newport News, VA -Hybrid with manager approvalTravel Requirement: NoJob Description***ABET Engineering degree required***Analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, power plant, armament, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs.Analyzes damage tolerance, durability, design allowable and structural modeling. Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis.Tools utilized may include CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer and a variety of software applications.Candidate should have structural engineering experience to include performing structural evaluations, conducting building assessments, performing code reviewinterpretations and responding to emergent safety related issues in a fast paced, large industrial facility setting.Assist with performing unplanned event investigations and performing root cause analysisHave project management, communication, organizational and computer skillsReviews and estimates design and construction costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs. Inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, budget and schedules. Strong project management, communication, organizational and computer skills are essential. Ability to work independently and be a part of cross-functional teams in accomplishment of complex tasks.Ability to recognize and address technical, quality, and business aspects of a project is essential to successfully executing assigned projects.Efficient and effective time management skills to execute multiple projects at different phases of the Project Implementation Process.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree - ABET Engineering degree requiredMinimum of 2+ years of experience required; ideally 5+ years of experienceMust be eligible for Confidential ClearanceOpen to US Citizens onlyPay range is based on years of relevant experienceBenefits:Paid time offSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayAbility to Commute:Newport News, VA 23607 (Required)Work Location: Hybrid remote in Newport News, VA 23607
