Required Skills and Experience *-5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer in a complex, multi-platform, multi-protocol environment.-Proven experience in planning, designing, and documenting Cisco-equipped networks with over 15,000 nodes, including large domains and deployments.-Expertise in selecting and strategically directing network and security technologies and architecture.-Proficiency in network security design and solutions, including concept testing, vulnerability and penetration testing, and threat mitigation.-Advanced skills in network monitoring, analysis, management, and configuration tools, or serversystems monitoring and management tools.-Packet-level expertise in network traffic analysis.-Strong project management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead diverse teams and work collaboratively.-Comprehensive knowledge of LAN and WAN operations, including routing, topology, QoS, Multicast, network protocols, and MetroEthernet.-In-depth knowledge and experience with MPLS, NAC, VPN, remote access servers, security devices, firewalls, security protocols, IDSIPS, NATPAT, ACS, Adaptive Authentication, SecurID, RadiusLDAPTACACS, and wireless technologies.-High School DiplomaGED.-CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification.Job Description *The Senior Cisco Network Engineer is responsible for providing a wide range of technical engineering support, design, and architecture for monitoring and managing data infrastructure and systems. This role involves developing and implementing standards, policies, and procedures, and acting as a liaison with contractors and vendors to ensure network and infrastructure integrity and security. The engineer will mentor Network Engineers, work independently on network designs, and lead implementation teams.Key Responsibilities:-Perform maintenance and upgrades of networks, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and network management systems.-Monitor network connectivity to ensure high-quality data transmission.-Provide technical support for LANMANWANSecurityWireless and cloud-based networks to various departments and users.-Manage day-to-day network issues and maintain enterprise Service Level Agreements (SLA).Project Involvement:-Evaluate new applications to determine their impact on the existing network and systems infrastructure.-Recommend and oversee necessary operational or security enhancements.-Coordinate contracted network penetrations to validate security infrastructure and implement remediation recommendations.-Collaborate with user project managers and other IT groups to successfully implement projects.-Manage contractors and consultants on security and network-related projects.Policy and Security:-Participate in policy creation, periodic security reviews of existing information systems, and assist in the requirements and solution definition process for new information systems.-Design, implement, maintain, and modify perimeter and network security devices andor systems.-Review requirements, develop network standards, and secure data networks infrastructure, including the network perimeter, remote access, main campus, WAN, leased or owned spaces, data center, and wired and wireless environments.-Identify and resolve hardware and software technical problems and malfunctions related to networks.-Promote governance and compliance with security standards, policies, and procedures, and maintain network security infrastructure with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, process, and reliability.
