Overview McGuireWoods has an opportunity for an individual to join its Marketing & Business Development team as a Senior Analyst of Business Intelligence. The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will utilize research and analyses to focus on the development and execution of the firm's business development initiatives, programs, goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, will be proficient in Excel, number-focused, data-driven, and will have a keen eye for detail. Responsibilities Research and analyze internal and external intelligence on key targets, clients, and firm relationships and translate information into actionable intelligence for business development purposes. Stay up to date on market and environmental happenings to be able to provide recommendations on potential opportunities. Benchmark the firm's activities and successes to those of our competitors and within the legal landscape. Conduct research and analyses on a variety of subjects, practices, areas of law, clients, targets, geographies, and markets. Work alongside other business development leads to create target lists, utilizing various resources to inform decision making. Provide advice to team on improving efficiencies and innovative methods for greater successes and further data optimization. Identify and create ongoing targeting and tracking programs for opportunity spotting and client awareness. Relatedly, create and utilize alert systems and triggers to notify of potential opportunities. Synthesize large data sets into reportable takeaways and action plans. Fulfill data visualization and reporting needs within the department. Utilize various resources to audit and analyze the firm's marketing activities in order to track ROI. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field of study along with 5 years' experience in a similar role preferably within a professional services organization. Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to analyze situations and make decisions quickly and effectively. Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills to effectively navigate a diverse group of attorneys and staff. Excellent time management and multitasking skills. Comfortable with ambiguity. Experience navigating and utilizing databases and research tools. Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills. High competency in Microsoft Excel and PowerBI.
