The Product Sales Account Manager is responsible for selling and supporting the firm's complete product and service offerings to an assigned set of named accounts and distributors. Focusing on customers with high-value, strategic growth opportunity, the Account Manager's most important customer interactions are face-to-face meetings. Other responsibilities Manages distributor and direct client accounts to increase sales, maintain high profitability and increase awareness of Company goods and services Penetrates assigned accounts by: Selling new or additional products or services to current buyers; and/or Finding additional buyers within the existing customer location; and/or Selling to additional customer locations Sells the firm's complete offering of products and services Leads all aspects of the sales process, calling upon others to assist in solution development and proposal delivery, as needed, or as directed by management Develops customer account plans for strategic clients that services relevant customer needs, prioritizes selling opportunities and establishes actionable plans for success Proactively manages customers' satisfaction by anticipating potential service problems, and monitoring overall order progress Other duties as assigned Qualifications Knowledge of material handling competition and the material handling market Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services (includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for service, and evaluation of customer satisfaction) Multi-Tasking - Managing through multiple tasks/demands at one time Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others Service Orientation - Actively looking for ways to help people Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems Judgment and Decision Making - Evaluating the relative costs/benefits of potential actions to determine the most appropriate choice Monitoring - Assessing performance of organizations, to make improvements or take corrective action Verbal and Written Expression and Recognition - The ability to listen to, understand and communicate information and ideas presented through spoken or written words and sentences Information Ordering - The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations) Problem Sensitivity - The ability to recognizing when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong Travel when necessary including outside travel to customers' premises (this can be auto or air travel) Overtime if necessary Walking in manufacturing facilities and possibly climbing ladders Above average communication skills are required This position includes periods of telephone-intensive work and may require sitting for long periods of time. Normal working conditions include: remaining stationary for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the office to access file cabinets and office equipment; operate a computer and other productivity machinery; inspect documents; communicate with others through talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and correspondence. Education and Experience Four year college degree from an accredited institution Minimum six years of sales experience in a business-to-business, large/strategic customer segment; or a record of achievement in the Account Manager position.
