Job Overview: The Psychology Internship Program Director will be a practicing psychologist who dedicates 0.5 FTE to providing patient care, and 0.5 FTE to carrying out the educational, administrative, and leadership responsibilities required to successfully run Jordan Valley's Graduate Psychology Internship Program (GPIP). The Program Director serves as a role model to faculty and interns by demonstrating outstanding professionalism, high quality patient care, educational excellence, and a scholarly approach to work. Duties: Accountable for all educational and administrative aspects of the Jordan Valley Graduate Psychology Internship Program (GPIP), including ensuring compliance with all applicable institutional and accrediting body policies and standards Provide broad knowledge and general training in psychology with emphasis on applied empirical knowledge Prepare psychology interns to competently address the needs of diverse populations with an emphasis on the underserved Socialize psychology interns to utilize critical thinking, problem solving, and meaningful self-reflection to facilitate life-long professional development Conduct regular assessments of the GPIP to ensure its effectiveness as an integral part of the mission of Jordan Valley Administer and maintain a supportive learning environment, in all participating sites, that allows interns to achieve and demonstrate each profession-wide competency and all program-specific competencies are met. Foster a program climate that acknowledges the value of cultural and individual differences and diversity. Provide timely, substantive, and appropriate feedback to interns on their program performance requirements Appoint, supervise, evaluate, and remove (if necessary) program faculty at all participating sites Appoint, supervise, evaluate, coach/remediate, and remove (if appropriate) interns Set clinical responsibilities for each intern based on that intern's current level of expertise and comfort with varying clinical situations/presentations. Compile and submit accurate information to Jordan Valley administration and APA as required and/or requested Serve as the primary resource for interns for concerns, grievances, impact of absences on program completion, etc. Coordinate with appropriate staff at the accrediting body and at the iterns' doctoral program to ensure timely and effectively communication between all parties. Requirements Required: Earned doctoral degree in Psychology from an APA accredited program 5 years' experience delivering behavioral health services to underserved and diverse populations. Must possess - or be in the process of obtaining / eligible for - a Missouri state license as a psychologist Preferred: Experience in supervising graduate level learners. Experience in delivering educational content using evidence-based best practices for maximizing learning
