REQ: AN EXCITING OPPROTUNITY TO BE APART OF THE NEWLY DEVELOPED BLUE RIDGE CENTER! The Blue Ridge Center is offering individual and group therapy services to Region Ten consumers and the community during our unique walk in clinic hours. This role will provide supportive advocacy, information and referral assistance to link Blue Ridge Center's clients to other services in the community. The incumbent will report to the Director and is expected to function with initiative and independent judgment, based on application of standard practices with guidance from supervisor. Master's level or licensure preferred. QUALIFICATIONS: To ensure the safe and efficient operation of the program, a valid Virginia Driver's License plus an acceptable driving record as issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles are required. For business use of a personal car, a certificate of valid personal automobile insurance must be provided. All candidates must meet the following criteria based on education and experience. Clinician I: Bachelor's degree- (required) Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or Pursuing Master's Program in related field and eligible for internship/practicum experience preferred. Clinician II: Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Substance Abuse, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited college/university required. Candidates must be eligible to seek licensure through the Virginia Department of Health Professions within 6 months of hire. Clinician III: Master's Degree and licensed through the Virginia Department of Health Professions as an LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Clinical Psychologist required. Knowledge of: impairments associated with major mental illness; psychosocial rehabilitation principles and implementation techniques; counseling principles; effects of psychotropic medications on functioning; psychosocial program principles; community living options; employment resources; supported work issues; crisis intervention; First aid and CPR; universal precautions; standards for psychosocial and intensive mental health programs. Skills in: assessing; interviewing; observing, recording and reporting on an individual's functioning; identifying and documenting a consumer's needs for resources, services and other support; using information from assessments, evaluations, observations and interview to develop service plans; maintaining supportive and rehabilitative relationship with members, generating member motivation and commitment to self-improvement and peer supports; maintaining a clean, safe and supportive environment for members, facilitating member groups (job clubs, social clubs, etc.); coordinating service providers; driving 15-passenger van; listening, computer usage. Abilities to: participate as a member of a rehabilitation team with a psychosocial model; work alongside psychiatrically-disabled individuals in a mutual work effort; motivate members toward growth; counsel and problem-solve; assess member strengths and weaknesses and develop rehabilitation plans with members; write; document; maintain member records.
