Inspector

RK&K is hiring experienced Roadway and Bridge Inspectors to support our Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) team in the Asheville, NC area. Essential Function The ideal candidate for this position will work independently with North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) and contractors while being responsible for: Work on various roadway and bridge projects within the region's geographic area Oversight of contractor's quality control operations Quality Assurance sampling and testing Completion of Daily Sampling and Testing Reports Data input in Site Manager/LIMS Daily communication with client, contractor, and field project personnel Required Skills and Experience 1 year of prior experience providing inspection services Candidates must be trustworthy and responsible Must have a solid background in mathematics Understand how to read and follow test specifications Excellent driving record Preferred Skills and Experience NCDOT Certifications as followed: NCDOT Erosion & Sediment Control Level II NCDOT Introduction to Asphalt Pavements NCDOT QMS Roadway Technician NCDOT Concrete Field Technician ACI Concrete Field Technician NCDOT ABC Sampling Technician NCDOT Borrow Pit Sampling Technician NCDOT Conventional Density Technician NICET Certifications Other Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
