Job Description The Arizona Housing Analytics Collaborative (AzHAC) is a tri-university collaborative among Arizona State University (i.e., School of Social Work and Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering), Northern Arizona University (i.e., Department of Psychological Sciences), and University of Arizona (i.e., Southwest Institute for Research on Women) funded by the Garcia Family Foundation. In partnership with community leaders and stakeholders, AzHAC conducts data analytics, predictive modeling, and qualitative inquiry around homelessness and housing to inform decision-making and care coordination. AzHAC uses empirical data, linked cross-system administration data, and publicly available data sources to estimate the incidence and prevalence of homelessness throughout the state of Arizona. This Info Security Analyst Sr. position is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of AzHAC's data security policies, procedures, and protocols, ensuring the protection of sensitive data across multiple linked data sources. This role is particularly focused on the safeguarding of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) data. The Info Security Analyst Sr. will work closely with the AzHAC team and various stakeholders, including IT staff and data-sponsor agencies, to ensure compliance with federal, state, and agency data regulations as well as to mitigate data security risks. Daily use of project management software required to create, assign, review, update and complete project tasks and goals related to data security. The position may also involve responding to data security needs outside of regular business hours. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field AND five years experience in information technology including familiarity with core protocols (i.e., Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Distributed File System (DFS)); OR, Master's degree in Information Technology or related field AND three years experience in information technology including familiarity with core protocols (i.e., Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Distributed File System (DFS)); OR any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Desired Qualifications Evidence of a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Biomedical Informatics or a related field with a focus on data management and analytics. Master's degree preferred. Experience in data security, with a focus on PII and HIPAA data management preferred. (7years) Demonstrated knowledge of data protection regulations, including HIPAA preferred. Experience in developing and implementing data security policies and procedures in a multi-disciplinary organization preferred. Experience with process to manage housing, health and related data. Experience with data approvals and agreements for multi-sector collaboration. Relocation Assistance - For information about schools, housing child resources, neighborhoods, hospitals, community events, and taxes, visit Essential Duties Data Security Management: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive data security policies and procedures that comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and other relevant laws. Oversee the security of multiple linked data sources containing PII and HIPAA data across AzHAC's data environments. Manage authorized user lists and security information following standard operating procedures as set by AzHAC and ASU secure data environments. Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability analyses to identify potential areas for process improvement. Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Ensure that AzHAC's data-handling practices comply with HIPAA and other relevant data protection regulations. Serve as the primary point of contact for all data security compliance audits and external inspections. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations affecting data security and privacy, advising AzHAC on necessary changes to policies and procedures. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with IT teams, data stewards, AzHAC, and university leadership to align data security practices with AzHAC's goals and objectives. Provide training and guidance to AzHAC team members and community partners on data security best practices and compliance requirements. Act as a liaison between AzHAC and external regulatory bodies, auditors, and law enforcement agencies on matters related to data security. Incident Response and Management: Lead AzHAC's response to data security incidents, including coordinating with relevant internal and external stakeholders to mitigate the impact and prevent future occurrences. Document and report on all data security incidents, providing analysis and recommendations for corrective actions. Technology and Infrastructure: Collaborate with IT teams to implement secure IT infrastructures, including data encryption, access controls, and network security measures. Oversee the integration of data security measures into new and existing systems and applications.
