We are currently recruiting for a Tax Manager. Job Description The Tax Manager role is responsible for managing staff, client assignments and projects and delivering a high-quality service. Additional responsibilities include assisting with overseeing office operations and staff, client service activities, quality, reporting, production revenue budget and forecasting; and working in conjunction with the Senior Manager/ Principal on maximizing performance including production revenue maximization, and staff development. This includes coaching, advising, and supporting team members in meeting client and self-development expectations. In addition, the position will be responsible for following and enforcing all firm and staff policies and procedures. Continuing education, obtaining new certifications, and competency-based development are all utilized to support associates on their professional growth path during their career CPA & Other Certification Assistance Programs Paid Study & Exam Time Partial Tuition Reimbursement Supervisory Responsibilities: Provide effective and respectful leadership to associates through planning of appropriate staffing levels; interviewing, selecting, orienting, and training; communicating performance expectations & providing feedback on performance (semi-annual basis), recognition/celebration, coaching, counseling reports and/or discipline; creating career growth opportunities and associate development plans. Understand skillsets and capabilities of Associates and monitor and review work products that they prepare and report on performance while articulating coaching notes throughout the process. Duties/Responsibilities: Serve as the Tax client service coordinator for appropriate clients. Advise clients on a full spectrum of corporate tax services, including planning, research, compliance, and general business activities. Manage client needs with respect to tax services and federal and state tax compliance. Promote the Firm to clients, business associates and through community events. Prepare tax returns and provide detailed review and analysis of tax returns. Work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a non-technical manner to facilitate communication between the client and the service team while managing the risk for both the client and the firm. Reviewing research findings and ensuring conclusions are consistent with firm policies and professional standards. Assist with new business development, extended service, and tax issue recognition for existing clients. Remain up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law. Qualifications Required Skills/Abilities: Expert knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting. Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Proficient in computer software programs. Retain general knowledge regarding FASB and IRC Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required. Preferred MBA or related degree. CPA or EA Preferred 7-10 years of related tax experience. Preferred 3-5 years of related management experience. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Additional Information Salary: $85,000 - $140,000 All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
