Position Overview: This position provides excellent opportunities for advancement with a team of energetic and hard-working professionals. The primary focus of this role will be to provide oversight of environmental projects to include NPDES permitting, water quality analyses and studies, MS4 and regulatory compliance, water resource system studies/reports and associated design of improvements. Primary Responsibilities: Provides oversight and technical guidance for multiple tasks and projects related to water resource projects. Active in business development of future pursuits and client management for water resource and environmental projects. Successfully manages, and delivers projects on time and on budget, while meeting quality requirements. Prepares and monitors project budgets. Regularly develops and evaluates project plans. Assesses the feasibility and soundness/validity of proposed engineering evaluations, when necessary, data are insufficient. Ensures proper quality control procedures are implemented on all projects. Conducts peer reviews and makes technical presentations. Identifies potential clients and project opportunities. Serves as supervisor for staff direct reports and mentors junior staff. Minimum Requirements: B.S Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field. Registration as a Professional Engineer in MD, VA, or DC or ability to obtain within 6 months. 10-15 years working as a Water Resource Engineer providing services related to stormwater management, drainage, best management practices, hydrologic and hydraulic studies, erosion and sediment control, and/or stream stabilization. Considerable knowledge of stormwater structures and system design, Hydrologic and hydraulic studies, stream stabilization and restoration, BMP design, general site design, industry standards, and civil design practices. Knowledgeable of various H&H analysis software for 1-D and 2-D modeling. Knowledgeable on sediment transport and scour analyses related to bridge foundation projects a plus. Knowledgeable on environmental support such as permitting, forest stand delineation, wetland delineation, and other environmental studies a plus. Previous experience as a Design Manager or Task Manager for projects Experience working with local communities, including assisting operators with treatment solutions, start-up services and commissioning. Experience in Business Development and a Seller-Doer mentality.
