POSITION SUMMARY The Maintenance Engineer II is a motivated self-starter responsible for supporting the installation, troubleshooting, and corrective/preventative maintenance of site-wide equipment to maintain operations in the cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices), non-GMP facilities, and lab spaces. This position is an ONSITE role, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor within the Engineering department, requiring an onsite presence 4 days per week (Mon - Thu or Tue - Fri, 10 hours per day) at our Lynnwood, WA plant which is a cGMP production scale manufacturing facility for our product, Leukine (sargramostim), a therapeutic glycoprotein. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Works cross-functionally with customer groups throughout the Company to provide maintenance, project, and continuous improvement support for Company assets throughout the asset lifecycle, providing responsive customer support and positive customer satisfaction. Follows cGMP standards and procedures to accurately document the operation and maintenance of equipment and systems in the cGMP production environment using the Asset Management System (AMS) database and other applicable data repositories. Supports the maintenance and operation activities of the Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, electronic control systems, refrigeration systems, power generation and electrical distribution systems, compressed air generation and distribution systems, high pressure gas storage and distribution systems, pure water generation and distribution systems, wastewater treatment systems, steam generation and distribution systems, and/or other biotech/pharmaceutical utilities. Supports scheduling and coordinating system inspection, testing, maintenance, and other services provided by contractors, as necessary. Interprets drawings, layouts, wiring diagrams, and specifications involved in the planning and performance of maintenance and repairs. Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing process related equipment such as vessels, agitators/mixers, chromatography columns, autoclaves, glass washers, and various sanitary design pumps and valves within a cleanroom environment. Requires doffing and donning PPE in accordance with Clean Room Standard Operation Practices. Supplies information and technical data for securing spare parts for the above-listed systems. Alternates performing periodic facility inspection and log taking responsibilities with team members Adheres to all applicable regulations and requirements including compliance with internal Standard Operating Procedures ("SOPs"), GMP, Health and Safety, WISHA/OSHA, regulatory compliance, company policies, and employment-related laws and statutes. Successfully completes all mandatory Safety, Quality, and other Compliance training within required timeframes. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Required: Current knowledge of, experience in, or skilled in the following: Basic technical troubleshooting flow paths and techniques Preventive and corrective maintenance experience on industrial, process, and lab equipment Proven understanding of general safety practices i.e. LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) AMS usage (i.e. Maximo, BMRAM) Participating in a rotating on-call schedule, responding to afterhours emergencies relating to maintenance and facilities Solid software skills essential including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability and willingness to adopt other job-specific applications will be necessary Capable and willing to work both independently and in a team environment Excellent soft skills including a bias towards action, the ability and willingness to give and receive constructive feedback, is comfortable working within a diverse team and across multiple functions, exhibits a consistently constructive attitude, and is adaptable and at ease with handling unexpected challenges Solid English language skills, both oral and written, are required for this highly collaborative role. Willingness and ability to clearly express opinions and ask questions. Comfortable actively participating in cross-functional meeting Preferred: Current knowledge of, experience in, or skilled in the following areas: General HVAC and refrigeration system operations Heat transfer and fluid flow fundamentals Pump and valve types and operation Pure water generation (RO/DI, Distillation) Steam generation and distribution systems, and steam principles Mechanical and electrical system troubleshooting Knowledge of PLC control, VFD operations Standards and guidance associated with industrial fields such as ASME, IEEE, ISO EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION Required: Associate's degree or certificate in a trade program. 3+ years of experience working in an equipment-mechanic trade 2+ years of experience working in a highly regulated environment or in a cGMP Biotech/Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment Preferred: Bachelor's degree Experience working in a cleanroom-controlled work environment PTx is committed to the principles of competitive and pay equity for all of our Partners. The current pay range for this position is $75,000 - $101,000. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time. Your salary will vary depending on several factors including your qualifications and experience.
