Job Description:Please Read Before Submitting: Traveler must meet all minimum requirements below to be considered.Do not submit traveler who have or will have expiring licenses and/or certifications during time frame of entire assignment. We are seeking a Registered Nurse to:•Provide care for critically ill newborns, infants and their families across the continuum of care, from admission to discharge.•Provide care for infants requiring the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services, including a wide variety of medical and surgical complexities. Minimum Requirements:Facility Requirement:Traveler must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison (permanent address must be included in traveler's profile: resume, Medefis portal and all onboarding documentation must have permanent address listed). Experience:Level 4 NICU experience required, or level III that included some surgical and trach vent managementExperience with post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vents, various modes of invasive/noninvasive ventilation Traveler must have completed two years in an acute care setting in addition to at least one year in a level IV NICU or level III NICU meeting above requirementsTraveler must have successfully completed 13 week travel assignment.Licensure and Certification:Traveler must have Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or compact license from their permanent address state. BLS must be certified through American Heart Association ONLYPALS - must be certified through American Heart Associate ONLYNRP Education:Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred.References:Needs 2 references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only).TelemetryTraveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass UW Health Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start (not for clinic positions). UW Health Recruitment will send instructions to traveler 2-3 weeks prior to start date. Floating:Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the traveler's competency skills/experience. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the travelers assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.Location: American Family Children's' Hospital 1675 Highland Ave, Madison, WI 53792 Parking: Permit required through UW Urgency:Quick StartShifts:36 hrs/week, Day/Night, 12 hr shifts per week with 2-3 weekends in each 6 week schedule. You will be taking a 20 strip exam to demonstrate that competency and must get an 80% on the test and correctly identify our 4 lethal rhythms (Asystole, V-Tach, V-fib, and 3rd Degree AV Block)Attached-(Uploaded to our existing documents) is a study guide and practice test similar to what you will take on Monday.You could also consider utilizing the link below as a review. **Please note that it looks like you have to pay a fee, but that is ONLY if you want the contact hours, you can skip paying and do the review for free. It will only take you approximately 2 hours, but will have you prepared for the exam. a reminder, you are required to pass the exam prior to starting your assignment here. Please make sure to review anything you are not comfortable with prior to coming to UW Health. *******All agency travelers must demonstrate competency in interpretation of cardiac rhythms before your orientation begins. Previous completion of PALS, ACLS, etc. is not acceptable as a demonstration of this competency. Instead, you will be expected to satisfactorily complete a 20 question test which consists of multiple choice questions and write-in rhythm identification. You must pass with an overall score of 80% and correctly identify 100% of the 4 life-threatening rhythms for your patient population (adult or peds).
