Job Posting: Traveling Superintendent: Federal Position Overview: The Senior Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all aspects of assigned projects, including safety, subcontractor management, scheduling, and budgeting. This role involves pre-planning for all project stages and collaborating closely with the Senior Project Manager to achieve project goals. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning and Management: Develop and manage project schedules, adjusting as necessary. Oversee pre-construction tasks, including crisis management plans, site logistics, and safety plans. Ensure alignment of project budgets, including labor, materials, and equipment. Field Operations: Supervise field staff, subcontractors, and suppliers. Conduct daily huddles, weekly work plans, and job site coordination. Ensure all on-site documentation is current and accurate. Quality and Safety: Implement site-specific Quality Control plans. Lead job safety meetings and orientations, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulations. Conduct regular job site walks to ensure safety protocols are followed. Client and Team Coordination: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, design teams, and subcontractors. Participate in client meetings and presentations. Collaborate with the Project Management team on subcontractor selection, RFIs, and procurement. Leadership and Development: Mentor Superintendents, Assistants, and Foremen through training programs. Provide leadership in Lean methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives. Organize and facilitate Superintendent meetings. Project Closeout: Ensure completion of all project closeout tasks, including punch list execution, commissioning, and final inspections. Assist in documenting As-Built drawings and uploading cost history information. Qualifications: Required: High school diploma or GED 15+ years of construction-related experience Ability to pass a federal background check Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and Bluebeam (or equivalent software) Experience supervising multiple Superintendents and Assistants HSPD-12 security screening Preferred: Two or four-year degree in a construction-related field Current OSHA 30 certification Strong communication and leadership skills Current CPR/First Aid training Travel Requirements: Must be willing to travel regularly. Physical Requirements: Perform duties outdoors in various weather conditions. Frequently work on high structures such as ladders and scaffolds. Regularly reach with hands and arms, stand, talk or hear, walk, and use hands to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally sit and frequently climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
