For more information about Draper, visit Job Description Summary: The HWIL & Visualization Group is responsible for developing dynamic simulations for rapid assessment, integration, and test of complex systems. Simulation applications range from high-level behavioral simulations to visualize and evaluate system concepts within SysML models to high-fidelity real time simulations and Hardware-in-the-Loop infrastructure to support development, integration and test of Draper systems. The HWIL & Visualization Group is seeking an Engineer with skills applicable to developing software models in MATLAB, Simulink and C++ and executing real time simulations in a Linux environment. A key responsibility for this position involves taking Simulink models and following a structured process to generate source code that will target a real time simulation environment. Previous experience following a requirements based Systems Engineering process is required. This position will be part of a fast paced team environment with an opportunity to work on a range of defense projects critical for our nation. Job Description: Duties/Responsibilities •Model operational environments, perform studies via computer simulation with guidance. •Perform modeling, simulation, and analysis tasks assess system survivability, system effectiveness, and overall system performance in engagement / mission-level scenarios, with guidance. •Prepare and deliver presentations to gather necessary data and communicate intermediate and final results. •Performs other duties as assigned. Skills/Abilities •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. •Experience with analytical methods, approaches, and data visualization. •Excellent mathematical skills. •Ability to collaborate within a diverse and multidisciplinary team. •Excellent verbal and written communication skills. •Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. •Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines. •Understanding of software development, simulation, dynamics, control theory, and hardware interfaces is required. This position requires the ability to reason about software designs given requirements and to formulate debugging strategies for complex systems. •Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink or other simulation tools and C/C++ software development in Unix/Linux and Windows environments. Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field. Master's degree preferred. Experience 0-2 years of Systems Engineering or related experience. Additional Job Description: Preferred Qualifications : Experience developing analytical models of discrete and continuous physical systems Knowledge and familiarity with aerospace systems and related sciences Previous simulation experience with HWIL development, STK, Gaming Engines C and C++ Programming experience, with emphasis on embedded or Linux-based environments. Experience with Linux-based development tools like vim, gcc, gdb, Bash scripting.
